A prospective multicenter registry to define coronary vasomotor disorders in ischemia with nonobstructive coronary arteries: Primary results of DISCOVER INOCA

Reported from ACC.26

Aaysha Cader interviews Samit M. Shah, who presented the primary results of the DISCOVER INOCA registry at ACC.26

The DISCOVER INOCA registry is a prospective multicentre U.S. study evaluating patients with suspected ischaemia and non-obstructive coronary arteries using a comprehensive invasive diagnostic protocol (angiography, acetylcholine testing, thermodilution, and intravascular imaging). The study found that 94% of patients received a vasomotor diagnosis, most commonly coronary vasospasm, often with overlapping mechanisms. The results support routine use of comprehensive invasive coronary function testing to identify vasomotor disorders and guide medical therapy in patients with INOCA.
