Comparison of stent geometry achieved by different side-branch ballooning techniques for bifurcation provisional stenting: the CRABBIS Trial

31 Mar 2025

Which ballooning technique is best after main vessel stenting in bifurcation PCI? This two-part study compares two key approaches: PKP (POT, kissing balloon inflation, final POT) and PSP (POT, isolated side branch dilation, final POT) to determine the optimal strategy.

Percutaneous coronary treatment with Bioadaptor implant vs drug-eluting stent : 2-year outcomes from BIOADAPTOR RCT

31 Mar 2025

At two-year follow-up, the use of sirolimus-eluting cobalt-chromium DynamX Drug Eluting Coronary Bioadaptor System (Elixir Medical Corporation) resulted in fewer target lesion failure (TLF) compared with the Resolute Onyx contemporary drug-eluting stent.

Rotational atherectomy, lithotripsy, or laser for calcified coronary stenosis: the ROLLER COASTR-EPIC22 trial

24 Mar 2025

Due to a lack of randomised evidence, this randomised controlled trial (RCT) aimed to compare the safety and efficacy of IVL and ELCA with RA in treating heavily calcified coronary lesions before drug-eluting stent implantation.

A randomised trial of sirolimus- versus paclitaxel-coated balloons for de novo coronary lesions

05 Dec 2024

The present study compares a novel sirolimus-coated balloon with a clinically proven paclitaxel-coated balloon for the treatment of de novo coronary lesions, demonstrating non-inferiority in terms of angiographic late lumen loss at 6 months.

Optical coherence tomography predictors of clinical outcomes after stent implantation: the ILUMIEN IV trial

04 Nov 2024

The aim of this pre-specified analysis of the ILUMIEN IV trial was to assess the relationship between post-PCI OCT parameters of suboptimal stent implantation and clinical outcomes.

Durable-polymer versus biodegradable-polymer drug-eluting stents in acute coronary syndromes: three-year outcomes of the HOST REDUCE POLYTECH RCT Trial

20 Jun 2024

This trial found that, in ACS patients undergoing PCI, DP-DES and BP-DES had similar patient-oriented outcomes at three years, but BP-DES had higher device-oriented composite outcomes, mainly due to increased TLR risk.

Quantitative coronary angiography vs intravascular ultrasonography to guide drug-eluting stent implantation - a randomized clinical trial

21 Mar 2024

The trial aimed to establish the non-inferiority of QCA-guided PCI compared to IVUS-guided PCI with respect to the primary endpoint of TLF at 12 months, defined as a composite of cardiac death, target vessel MI, or ischemia-driven target lesion revascularization.

A new resorbable magnesium scaffold for de novo coronary lesions (DREAMS 3G): one-year results of the BIOMAG-1 first-in-human study

25 May 2023

The 12-month outcomes of the BIOMAG-I first-in-human trial demonstrate a favorable safety profile for the third-generation magnesium scaffold and 38 % improved performance compared to its precursor.

A large, prospective, multicentre study of left main PCI using a latest-generation zotarolimus-eluting stent: the ROLEX study

24 Oct 2022

The purpose of the ROLEX Registry (Revascularization Of LEft main with resolute onyX) was to explore outcomes using a more contemporary drug eluting stent platform which is more suitable for LM PCI.

Durable polymer vs. biodegradable polymer DES in patients with ACS undergoing complex PCI: A post hoc analysis of the HOST-REDUCE-POLYTECH-ACS trial

30 Aug 2022

The HOST-REDUCE-POLYTECH-ACS trial was a randomised, parallel-group multicentre trial with a 2x2 factorial design testing two independent hypotheses, one of which was the non-inferiority of durable polymer drug-eluting stents (DP-DES) to biodegradable polymer drug-eluting stents (BP-DES) in patients with ACS. In this post-hoc analysis, the authors...
