Complications: Coronary perforation
The choice and type of covered stents depends on the conditionsprocedural circumstances. Before implanting a covered stent one needs to check the compatibility of the device with the guiding catheter.
6Fr guiding catheter:
- If balloon is inflated at perforation site
- Insert a second guiding catheter (second arterial access, consider femoral ≥ 7Fr), please consult Double guide catheters technique
- Parallel guide wire
- Deploy covered stent through second guiding catheter
7Fr / 8Fr guiding catheter:
- If balloon is inflated at perforation site
- Insert a second guide wire in the same guiding catheter
- Implant covered stent
- If balloon is out of the guiding catheter
- Insert a covered stent directly
