The specific devices below are not necessarily available in every cathlab.
- Needs expertise in their use, but not difficult to perform:
- Detachable coils, optimal positioning can be confirmed before releasing
- Pushable coils, smaller but no repositioning
- Deliverability through microcatheter:
- For a “usual” coil:
- Progreat 2.8Fr (Terumo)
- For smaller coils like 0.018" Nester, Tornado Platinium or Hilal Embolisation Microcoil (Cook Medical Bloomington, IN):
- Finecross® MG 2.6Fr (Terumo)
- OTW balloons (certain brands)
