The specific devices below are not necessarily available in every cathlab.

  • Needs expertise in their use, but not difficult to perform:
    • Detachable coils, optimal positioning can be confirmed before releasing
    • Pushable coils, smaller but no repositioning
  • Deliverability through microcatheter:
    • For a “usual” coil:
      • Progreat 2.8Fr (Terumo)
    • For smaller coils like 0.018" Nester, Tornado Platinium or Hilal Embolisation Microcoil (Cook Medical Bloomington, IN):
      • Finecross® MG 2.6Fr (Terumo)
      • OTW balloons (certain brands)
